The first book of the Redwall series, Redwall by Brian Jacques, first published in 1986. When the evil rat warlord Cluny the Scourge comes to take Redwall Abbey for himself, it's up to the peaceful woodlanders to protect their homeland, all the while the young mouse Matthias goes on a heroic quest to find the legendary sword of Martin the Warrior.
